DDC hikes price of whole milk

Dairy Development Corporation (DDC) increased the price of whole milk – available in green packet – by Rs 2 to Rs 60 per litre from today.
As the production cost increased due to hike in key raw materials like milk powder and packaging materials, apart from appreciation of US dollar, the corporation is compelled to hike the milk price, said general manager of the corporation SP Singh.
As the hike might send negative message in the nearing festive season, the corporation has increased only the most consumed milk product.
DDC has not hike the price of pasteurised milk like Cow Milk, Standard Milk and Slim Milk, and they cost Rs 50 and Rs 44 per liter, respectively,
Currently, the state dairy producer distributes 160,000 liters of packaged milk, including 25,000 liters of whole milk.
